Spectacle of Relevance

In the Rush of Intense Heat

God forbid that our small home be engulfed in flames, these are the items that I would grab and save. Obviously, my super artistic drawing needs an adequate explanation. So here goes...

Most of the stuff I've chosen to save are already compiled or are grouped. I realized that these have been organized (to my surprise) even before I did this blog challenge with my blockmates. I need not panic in search for these items for they've been already prepared. I'm also assuming that the fire would happen with my parents at work, therefore leaving me and my siblings to save what we can and ourselves.

Just a back story! When my mom was young, she experienced their house burning. With that piece of memory, she always reminded us to be prepared and be organized for the worst.

First on my list would be the PAPERS and PHOTO ALBUMS. That's because Mom would kill me if I didn't save them cause well, she's been bugging me ever since that if a fire should occur, these should be the first things to take out of the house.

I understand now how she made these our foremost priority. Our papers (although our public institutions have copies of them) are hard to get a hold of and with five individuals to keep track of, it would be a huge problem. As for the photo albums, we don't have digital copies of those. Those are the only copies we have and they fill a big portion of who I am.

I think that's the connecting idea in choosing these items, they are all irreplaceable. They remind me of who I've been and who I am. Honestly, there are times where I forget a lot of things. I blame this fast paced world we live in. But these memories remind me of who I once was. With that, I get back a part of my sanity and it gives me peace of mind to know I have something to look back to. Another thing about these items is that I have a hard time letting go of memories. I think it's because of the belief that "People change, they come and they go but memories stay with you forever. They never change."

You may say that these items are sort of generic and out of date but then again only I know what true meaning these items hold.

So hopefully, I have enough time to grab all these stuff PLUS my siblings then get out of the house. Eventually, I'd use my phone to call my parents and tell them our house is burning.

In another world where what I'm about to say is relevant to my post, isn't my drawing superb? I just love it. I draw like a gradeschooler.
